FOTD: Summer Smoke

I had to venture out into the sun for a few press events, and I didn’t want to look ‘done’ (it’s really too hot for all of that), but I also didn’t want to go bare faced. So I opted for a sheer smoky eye:

FACE
Hourglass Mineral Primer
YSL Teint Touche Eclat Foundation (B70)
MAC Mineralize Blush in Fresh Honey
EYES
Dior 3-Coleurs (Khaki):
Dark Khaki on lids
Shimmer Khaki under waterline
Gold through the crease
Armani Eyes To Kill Stretch Mascara
LIPS
Urban Decay 24/7 Lip Pencil in Heavy
Chanel Glossimer in Gold Light

FOTD: Urban Decay Naked Foundation

I took the Urban Decay Naked Foundation out for a test drive… it performed very well. My only concern is about skin type; this foundation literally glued itself to my oily skin and set immediately. I can’t see this being so hot for drier skin types. I blotted once throughout a 10 hour day. I think the foundation also absorbs oil as it wears. I’d be really interested in seeing how it wears on a dry skin, because it seems to have all the answers for oily girls like me.

FACE
Urban Decay NAKED Foundation (#8)
Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder (t-zone)
MAKE UP FOR EVER color in Tangerine (as blush)
EYES
Armani Eyes to Kill Silk Eyeshadow in #24 (lids)
Rock & Republic Eyeshadow in Emerge (inner corners)
Louise Young Eyeshadow in Pom Pom (crease)
MAC Eyeshadow in Brule (browbone)
MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack (lashline)
Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Lucky (waterline)
Armani Eyes to Kill Stretch Mascara
LIPS
Laura Mercier Lip Shine in Tempting Coral

Lip Service: MAKE UP FOR EVER Rouge Artist Natural (N43)

I finally gave up trying to resist the amazing orange lipstick that is MAKE UP FOR EVER Rouge Artist Natural in N43. It’s a creamy opaque color, that looks amazing on my warm skintone:

I used it for an FOTD, and fell in love. The color is REALLY intense, but it works well as long as it’s the focal point of the face.

On the rest of my face:
NARS Liberte Blush
Armani Eyes To Kill Silk Eyeshadow in #2 (lashline/under waterline)
Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Perversion

Eye Adore: Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in ‘Perversion’

This might steal me away from my other Urban Decay favorite in ‘Zero.’ Touted as the ‘matte’ version of the ‘blackest black’ — Urban Decay’s new 24/7 Pencil in ‘Perversion’ definitely makes its mark:

It sets in about 15 seconds, and DOES.NOT.MOVE. I’m really impressed with this new pencil. I may end up keeping this in even higher rotation than Zero. You can find out more about Urban Decay’s new pencil HERE.

I used my new Inglot pigment (#84) for this look:
