Professional Grade: Live Shot

CBS Televison Reporter Suraya Fadel asked me to help me put on false lashes for a series of Holiday reports she was going to be doing.
Well, when I met with her that morning, she wasn’t wearing anything but foundation, so I decided to do  her entire face. She knows that I’m not a fan of the way she normally does her makeup, so I wanted to show her how she could acheive a better look, with less products:

Instead of using her usual liquid liner around the eyes, I used three eyeshadows: Beige on her lids, brown in her crease, and black along her lashline and  under her waterline. I used Smoke & Mirrors Beauty lashes (Atlanta Lash) on her, popped a Peach blush on her cheeks, a soft pink gloss on her lips, and sent her on her way. The whole project took about 20 minutes.

She posted pictures throughout the day, and I reposted them accordingly:

I thought she looked great. I hope she starts using more powders (and a LOT less liquid eyeliner) in the future.

Making Faces: Golden Mike Awards

This is Suraya:

She wanted makeup for tonight’s Golden Mike Awards (think: Golden Globes for Journalists), and wanted to know if I could whip a look up for her? She was wearing ‘Power Blue’. Don’t ask me what that means. I don’t know.
But, I know that Miss Suraya is a fan of matte. I’m not… at least not when I’m playing dress up. I wanted to introduce a little shimmer into her life. These were my tools:

A little bit of everything, as you can see. But I primarily used the Dior Gris Gris quad, and the ‘black’ color from the Chanel Quint. And of course, I used those fantastic Smoke & Mirrors lashes on her. This is the only picture she’s allowing me to use to show the final result:

I sent her off with a mini Make Up For Ever HD powder and a mini Bobbi Brown brush (just in case), and a Kevyn Aucoin lipstick in Nude.

I think she was happy. She said as much… and ran off to put on her ‘power blue’ outfit and go  to the ceremony!
