Armani: Summer 2012

THERE HERE!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve been waiting with bated breath for the new Armani Eyes to Kill Silk Eyeshadows, and FINALLY they’ve arrived!

From the top left: Obsidian Black, Obsidian Grey, Ecailles, Madre Perla

Obsidian Black
Obsidian Grey
Madre Perla
The theme for these new shadows is Teal. Every color is infused with some version of teal… with  maybe the exception of Obsidian Grey. Ecailles reminds me of the ‘Airy Jade’ color (#10), but it’s more teal and less ‘sky blue’ in the finish.
Like their predecessors, the formula is like a ‘dry cream’ to the touch… they set and stay put until you take them off. Brilliant.

Giveaway: Armani Eyes To Kill (CLOSED)

I wanted to share some of my absolute favorite pieces from the Armani Eyes To Kill Collection. I am absolutely in love with the Eyes To Kill Stretch Mascara… as well as the latest Silk Eyeshadows in #17 (silver), #18 (gold), and #19 (platinum/gold)…

…so I’m paying them forward in a giveaway! They will be packed into this lovely Armani pewter makeup bag.

Armani Holiday 2011: Eyes To Kill Silk Eyeshadows

The entire Holiday 2011 collection is completely awesome… but you guys knew that if I had to choose, I’d take the Eyes To Kill Silk Eyeshadows first. No question.

So I got the shadows in #17, #18, and #19.
#17 is a distinct bright silver shimmer
#18 is a distinct bright gold shimmer
#19 is a distinct blend of silver and gold shimmer

It was impossible to catch the glory of these shadows in my swatches. They have such dimension and shimmer… they are simply wonderful, and PERFECT for Holiday Makeup. I adore them.

There is also an amazing selection of lipglosses with this collection. Reviews on those are coming.

FOTD: Glow

For the Fleurings shoot, I wanted to give Samantha an idea of what I meant by polished, glowing makeup. So I did a version on myself. I’m still working through the kinks on this… I used NO mattes, and since my skin is oily, keeping it from going greasy is a challenge. Anyway, here’s the result:

Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge (03)
Chanel Vitalumiere Foundation (Cedar)
MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer (NC42)
NARS Blush in Luster
Suqqu Eyebrow Pen in Brown
Armani Eyes To Kill Silk Eyeshadow in #11 (lashline to above crease/inner corner)
Armani Eyes To Kill Silk Eyeshadow in #5 (crease)
By Terry Crayon Kohl Terrybly in Brown Stellar (waterline)
YSL Shocking Eyeliner Pen (lashline)
YSL Shocking Mascara
Rock & Republic Lip Gloss in Alpha Blonde
*Forgive the pimple… I’m working on it.*

Cirque du Soleil: IRIS

While many of you Divas were out cutting up and shopping to your heart’s content for Fashion’s Night Out ( I wanted to go out… but passed for a worthy cause)…

I was in a theater, taking in Cirque Du Soleil: IRIS:

It was hubby’s birthday, so I took him to the show as a gift. Since he’s a filmmaker, it’s only natural that he’d be attracted to a show about a journey through the world of cinema. It was QUITE the spectacle… we really had a good time.

For the show, I wanted to do something a little ‘Old Hollywood’ with a shimmery twist. It didn’t quite work out that way. I ended up with lush lashes and a berry lip. Ah well, it was close enough:

Guerlain Parure Extreme (Dore 24)
Kevyn Aucoin Diaphonous Radiance Powder
Chanel Blush in Rose Ecrin
Armani Eyes To Kill Silk Eyeshadow in #9 (lashline to brow)
Anastasia Matte Brow Highlight (browbone)
Louise Young Eyeshadow in Maowi (brows)
Napoleon Perdis China Doll Eyeliner (lashline)
Stila Smudge Stick in Stone (waterline)
Smoke & Mirrors Beauty New York City Lash

Guerlain Rouge G in #70
Beaute Lip Gloss in Allure

Chanel Autumn 2011: Illusion d’Ombre (Illusoire)

Okay, this one may be my favorite of the bunch. That’s the good news. The bad news is, I REALLY don’t need it because it’s a dead ringer for its Armani counterpart. Check it out:

Both Illusiore and Armani’s #4 are a greyish purple. Armani has tossed a little red in there, but so has Chanel… you just can’t see it unless you get really close. Armani’s version is a bit ‘chunky’ with the color mix, and Chanel’s is fine. But it doesn’t matter because they pretty much look the same on the skin.

The proof is in the swatch:
Chanel Illusion d’Ombre in Illusoire
Chanel is on the top
Armani is on the bottom
I was blown away by the similiarities. The only real difference between these products is staying power. You know Armani has that in spades. But it’s easier to layer the Chanel version with powders because the formula is more pliant.
Illusoire and Mirifique top my list of favorites from the cream shadow collection… followed by Epatant. I’m getting the hang of making them work and STAY in place, little by little.
