Becca Radiant Skin Satin Finish Foundation (Amber)

I know that I just screamed from the rooftops all the fabulous things about Becca Luminous Skin Colour…
But the company recently released a new foundation (in a million shade ranges) that has more coverage, and a bit of a matte finish. I actually don’t know why it’s called ‘satin’ finish… this stuff’s totally matte on me.

I like it for coverage — and found that it’s best applied with fingers. I don’t think this foundation has a lick of SPF  in it (it’s not mentioned anywhere on the packaging, although titanium dioxide is listed in the ingredients)… so you’ll need to wear a sunscreen under it (which you should wear under foundation anyway). On the up side… no (or low) SPF means less likelihood of flashback.

I wore it a recent FOTD (with sunscreen under it) and it wore well for most of the day. I did start to get oily halfway through the day though.. so I had to blot.

FOTD: Pre Oscars Brunch

I stepped out for a late breakfast with a few colleagues for a pre-ceremony brunch (most of us are working this evening). I wanted to look fresh and ‘open’ and keep everything on the neutral side. So this is what I did:

Eye Adore: Chantecaille Single Eyeshadow (Sel)

This is one of those staple colors that you have no idea how you lived so long without…

The Chantecaille Eyeshadow in Sel is so versatile, that I’m trying to figure out why I didn’t discover this color sooner. It’s a pale taupe/beige… that looks different on every skintone. On fair skin, it’s a lovely dark beige… almost brown shimmer. On medium tone skin it nearly imitates a ‘flesh’ color, and just lights up the eye area. On darker skin it’s a pale shimmer taupe that’s more gorgeous than garish.

Color me completely in love.

This color can be applied sheer or dense. If you apply it sheer, it adds a sheen to the skin, and makes the lid look ‘wet.’ If you apply it dense, it does something totally different.
