FOTD: Pink n’ Blue

Quick, simple color: When I don’t have much time but want to wear something colorful, I cheat with colored liners and lipsticks. This FOTD took about 15 minutes…

Armani Face Fabric (5)
Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder (2)
Chanel Blush in Tumulte
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Rose Gold

Laura Mercier Cream Shadow in Rose Gold (lashline to brow)
MAC Pigment in Naked Dark (lids)
YSL Shocking Gel Liner in Sea Black (lashline)
Chanel Eye Pencil in Cassis (waterline)
Dolce & Gabanna Mascara

Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick in N28
(drawn with a brush as a liner, then filled in from the tube)

FOTD: Summer Shimmer

I dug back into the Nvey eyeshadows for this look. It’s a bit ‘summery’ without the all the bright bits. It wore well in the summer-like weather today:

Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid Makeup (4CN1)
Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder (#2)
Laura Mercier Blush in Fresh Peach
Nvey Eco Color Palette (#1):
Brown Shadow (lids/under waterline)
Pink Shadow (outer crease)
Grey/Green Shadow (inner crease)
Armani Eyes To Kill Stretch Mascara
Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural in N6

Lip Service: Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural

Make Up For Ever released an extensive line of ‘natural’ lipsticks, which contains – quote – “a cocktail of vegetal ingredients, made of waxes and Cupuassu Butter… (with) nourishing properties for a moisturizing smooth texture that glides on effortlessly.” The finish is creamy with a higher shine than the company’s traditional line. The color range is EXTENSIVE (50 shades total)… so I’d strongly suggest that you try before you buy. I found at least 7 shades of ‘nude’ — there is a color for every possible skin tone.

I ended up with two shades that I actually don’t have in this particular formula: N6, a shimmering nude for warmer skin tones – and N28, a shiny purple based fuchsia.

Now, you might think that ‘natural’ means that these lipsticks would be on the sheer side. They’re not.

N6 is basically idiot-proof. You can put that lipstick on in complete darkness and it’ll still look good. N28 works really well because of the formula. It looks like a cousin to MAC’s Violetta, without the amplified finish.

All of these lipsticks are worth a gander. I’m sure I’ll be going back for more. I found an orange (of course),  but decided against it because I just got the one from Armani and didn’t feel the need to repeat the exercise. The ease of application and the shiny finish makes these a must have for me, especially for the Summer season.
