(Rock & Republic) Call Me vs. (NARS) Puerto Vallarta

Boo Boo Ninja, this is for you:

Rock & Republic Blush in Call Me is on the left… NARS Multiple in Puerto Vallarta is on the right. There is more gold (making it more peach and less pink) in Puerto Vallarta, and it’s about half a shade lighter.

FOTD: Summer Shine

I just refuse to fight the weather these days. It’s been super hot, and my oily skin won’t really tolerate much in terms of foundations. I’ve put away my matte finishes (for now) and as long as I keep the applications sheer, it works out. For this look, I used the new YSL Pure Chromatics Palette in #7:

FACE
Rock & Republic Tinted Illuminizer in Roxanne
NARS Pure Radiance Tinted Moisturizer in Malaga
NARS Blush in Luster
EYES
YSL Pure Chromatics Palette #7:
Orange on inner lids
Pink on center lids
Burgundy on outer lids, blended through crease and under outer waterline
Mac Eyedshadow in Handwritten smudged into lashline
Chanel Eye Pencil in Peche Cuivre on waterline and under inner waterline
 LIPS
NARS Lip Pencil in Rosebud (all over)
YSL Golden Gloss in #51

FOTD: Brown & Green

This is an odd combination, but I think it kind of worked. I layered Chanel’s Illusion d’ Ombre shadow in Epatant over dark brown matte shadow…

FACE
Armani Face Fabric (#5)
Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder (#2)
Sleek Contour Kit (Medium)
Chanel Blush in Imprevu
EYES
Louise Young Eyeshadow in Pom Pom (lashline to near browbone)
Chanel Illusion d Ombre in Epatant (lids)
Lancome Liquid Liner in Espresso (lashline)
Stila Smudgestick in Stone (waterline)
Guerlain Noir G Mascara
LIPS
MAC Lip Pencil in Hodgepodge
Rock & Republic Lip Gloss in Train Wreck

FOTD: Metallic Orange

It began with the Beaute Liqui-Gel Stain in Neon (it was literally the first thing I put on), and I kind of built the face from there:

FACE
Guerlain Parure Gold (Beige 06)
Kevyn Aucoin Radiant Diaphanous Powder
Rock & Republic Blush in Call Me
EYES
NARS Cream Shadow in Nomad (lashline to above crease)
NARS Single Eyeshadow in Etrusque (lids)
Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Zero (lashline and waterline)
Guerlain Noir G Mascara
LIPS
Beaute Liqui-Gel Stain in Neon
Haughty Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Receive

FOTD: Matte Color

I reached for my homemade Make Up For Ever Eyeshadow Palette for this look:

FACE
Dolce & Gabanna The Foundation (Soft Tan)
Kevyn Aucoin Radiant Diaphonous Powder
Cargo Blush in Laguna
EYES
Make Up For Ever Eyeshadow in #17 (brows)
Make Up For Ever Eyeshadow in #24 (lids)
Make Up For Ever Eyeshadow in #162 (crease/under waterline)
YSL Shocking Gel Liner in Cherry Black (lashline)
Urban Decay Eye Pencil in Zero (waterline)
YSL Shocking Mascara
LIPS
MAC Lip Pencil in Mouth Off
Rock & Republic Lip Gloss in Hot Sauce

FOTN: 5 Minutes with Sheer Gold

I might have even done this face faster than 5 minutes… I was FRANTIC to get out the door and to an event on time, but I would have been totally wretched to show up without makeup. I used my new Dolce & Gabbana Foundation, and it performed extremely well under pressure. A full review is coming.

FACE
Dolce & Gabbana The Foundation (Soft Tan)
Dolce & Gabanna Perfect Finish Powder (Almond)
Rock & Republic Blush (Call Me)
EYES
Rock & Republic Eyeshadow in Tribal (brows)
Guerlain Retractable Eye Pencil in #1 (waterline)
Armani Eyes to Kill Stretch Mascara
LIPS
Dolce & Gabbana Gloss Fusion Lipstick in Dazzle

FOTD: Blue & Brown Stuff

One of my favorite ‘unusual’ color combinations is blue and brown. I find that it makes blue much more wearable, especially on warmer skin tones.

FACE
Illamasqua Skin Base (#14 & #15)
Chantecaille Loose Powder in Shadow
Chanel Blush in Rose Ecrin
EYES
Chanel Lagons: Darkest Blue (on lids)
By Terry Crayon Terrybly in Blue Vision (waterline)
Rock & Republic Eyeshadow in Tribal (blended through crease)
YSL Shocking Gel Liner in Sea Black (lashline)
Armani Eyes to Kill Stretch Mascara
LIPS
YSL Rouge Couture in Ochre Rose
