My Sustainable Journey: RMS Beauty Cream Shadows

Still more improvements in the world of Organic Beauty… the latest additions from RMS Beauty prove that you can be beautiful, and sustainable, all at once!

The lovely ladies at Spirit Beauty Lounge sent me the RMS Beauty cream shadows to try. Now, I’m an oily skin girl, so I tend to shy away from any product categorized as a ‘cream.’ But I approached these shadows with an open mind, and I’m happy to report, I was not disappointed!

 Spark          Myth           Lunar
Magnetic    Seduce
(my favorite)
They swatch heavy and true… and I notice that they respond to your fingers or a brush.. respectively. You can definitely pick up more product with your fingers, but I was able to really diffuse the colors with a brush, and even blend them together.
Swatched with my fingers
Diffused with a brush
I think it’s best to treat these like the Chanel cream shadows; over powder is likely your best bet. If you wear them alone, a primer is recommended to cut down on the creasing. I wore Seduce alone, with no primer, and it survived about 2 hours before it creased. In the coming weeks, I’m going to experiment with them and see how much I can get them to adapt to other products for longer wear time.
One note… I had to pull the color from my arm with a makeup remover wipe. They did not just wipe away with a dry cloth. So that’s a plus in the pigmentation department.
Overall, I really like them. They wear strong and true, and the organic nature of the shadows is noteworthy. These babies retail for 28.00 a pop (cheaper than Chanel and Armani). You can get them at Spirit Beauty Lounge.

My Sustainable Journey: Spirit Beauty Lounge

File this under one of my favorite rediscoveries of late… the Spirit Beauty Lounge brings skin care and beauty brands that are organic or naturally sourced, to one place for your shopping enjoyment. I love this website. I came upon it years ago looking for something natural… then forgot about it as other brands and ideas began to crowd the small space that is my brain. Recently, an email from owner Spirit Demerson brought the website back to the foreground, so I decided to poke around and see what’s what.

From hair care to makeup, Spirit Beauty Lounge truly covers all the bases… naturally and beautifully. I am giddy with the explosion of natural and organic makeup… it’s about time! So, I placed an order, and waited patiently for my goodies to arrive…

4 days later, a box showed up at my doorstep:

Here’s what I ended up with…

 Vapor Organic Beauty Luminous Foundation
Now, here’s something noteworthy… I was able to pick that color (which is perfect for my skin tone) using just the description on the website. Spirit Beauty Lounge compares skin tones (light/medium/medium-dark/dark) with undertones (pink/yellow/yellow & red/red) and lines them up alongside celebrities. So, I’d end up with  medium-dark/yellow undertones/looks like: Beyonce/Halle Berry. It actually works out very well, as my foundation turned out to  be a dead ringer for my unique skin tone/undertone combination.
RMS Beauty “Un-Cover” Concealer
Kjaer Weis Eyeshadow in Earthy Calm
I have to say, I’m very  happy with the products, the very simple procedure for choosing my right foundation/concealer color (this is HUGE for folks who buy foundations/concealers online), and the service. I love this place. I’ll definitely be back to visit Spirit Beauty Lounge in the future!
