FOTD: Saint Coral

I dug right in and used the Saint Coral lipstick for this FOTD. I just built the face around it. Kept the colors easy… and focused on the lips:

Chanel Perfection Lumiere (Beige Ambre 64)
Chanel Eclat Lumiere (Medium Dark)
NARS Blush in Liberte
NARS Ramatuelle Eyeshadow Trio:
Matte Peach on lids
Shimmer Apricot under waterline
NARS Soft Touch Eyeshadow Pencil in Calabria (lashline)
Chanel Eye Pencil in Peche Cuivre (waterline)
Besame 1930’s Mascara
‘Lipstick Queen’ Lipstick in Saint Coral

EOTN: Ramatuelle

I used the NARS Ramatuelle Palette, to see how it translated on my warm skin tone. I was not disappointed. The colors are very flattering, although sheer. I imagine with a primer they would stand out more. But I am content to wear them as they are…

 NARS Ramatuelle Trio:
Silver on inner corners
Shimmer Apricot in center of lid
Matte Peach on outer corners
YSL Shocking Gel liner in Deep Black on lashline
Guerlain Noir G Mascara
(Brows: Anastasia Brow Gel in Granite)

NARS: Summer 2012

My favorite pics from the NARS Summer 2012 Collection finally arrived. I must say, I am NOT disappointed. I was a little skeptical of some of the color combinations initially (peach and silver seemed… odd to me for the eyeshadow trio), but they all come together so nicely. I love the idea of combining colors that I never would have thought would work, and NARS does that beautifully.

Never Say Never Velvet Matte Lip Pencil:

Liberte Blush
Calabria Soft Touch Eye Shadow Pencil
Ramatuelle Eye Shadow Trio:
The Velvet Matte Lip Pencil is gorgeously soft in color and texture, and it wears all day with no issues. It’s not drying, and I am blown away by how flattering it is. It will definitely work a wide range of skin tones.
There is NOTHING like that Liberte Blush. It looks really strong and scary in the pan, but it applies so softly. It can be built to greater intensity if you like, but it really wears like a warm veil of color across the skin. Just beautiful.
The Calabria Soft Touch Eyeshadow pencil is pretty, but not very practical. It wipes away very easily. It has no staying power and will likely need a heavy dose of primer, and may even a powder shadow over it, to get it to really stay put.
The Ramatuelle Eye Shadow trio is the most unexpected gem of the collection. I never expected those colors to work, to be honest. But the silver is so sheer and flattering, the shimmer apricot actually works, and the matte color just brings it all together brilliantly.
I am pretty happy with my picks for the NARS Summer 2012 collection. I can’t wait to put them to practical use!
