FOTD: Radiant Neutral

I wanted to show you guys how I use the Hourglass Ambient Light Powders. Please keep in  mind that these are ‘finishing’ powders. They are not meant to blot, control oil, or set foundations. they are the last thing that you ‘dust’ over the high (or low) points of your face after you’ve finished your makeup.

NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer (Malaga)
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (Ginger)
NARS Multiple in Puerto Vallarta (blush)
Hourglass Ambient Light Powder in Dim Light (center of face)
Hourglass Ambient Light Powder in Radiant Light (outer edges of the face)
MAC Pigment in Naked Dark (lids)
Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in Caviar Ink (lashline)
Guerlain Retractable Pencil in Gold #1 (waterline)
Burberry Effortless Mascara
Chanel Lip Gloss in Insouciance
Now, the first time I took the picture… there was so much ‘radiance’ that I got massive flashback and the lens wouldn’t focus:

FOTD: Summer’s Last Gasp

It’s finally starting to look like Autumn around here… cloudy and rainy and what not. But before that happened, it got so hot that I’m pretty sure temperatures hit 90 degrees. On that day, I went all out with Golden Orange…

Givenchy Mat Foundation (Amber 08)
By Terry Hyaluronic Face Powder
Chanel Notorious
Chanel Blush in Brume d’Or
MAC Marche Aux Puces
Golden Orange color on lids
Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow in Espresso on outer lashline
MAC Pigment in Melon under waterline
Givenchy Noir Couture Mascara
MAC Lipglass in Eclectic Edge

EOTD: Rose Shimmer

I wanted to see what the Guerlain shadows could do as a base… boy do they work! MAC pigments have left much to be desired of late (creasing and fallout and what not), so I used Guerlain’s cream shadow in Bahia under a rose pigment. Here’s the result:

Gah, ignore the eyebrows. This was a rush job. I had run a bit of Stila Smudgestick through them… apparently I didn’t get them even. Anyway, here’s the rest…

Guerlain Cream Shadow in Bahia (lashline to brow)
MAC Pigment in Rose (lids to crease)
Stila Smudgestick in Onyx (brows and waterline)
Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara

Mini Haulage from Sephora

I’ve been meaning to post this… time sort of got away from me. I’ve been hunting down that silvery lipgloss for the Dior Spring 2011 collection. I finally broke down and got it from the Sephora website. I don’t really like buying some makeup that I can’t try out first. I was a little worried about this gloss, because I wasn’t really sure how it would translate.
I also got the Ore pigment from the Illamasqua Holiday Collection, and the YSL Touch Eclat in Or (also from the Holiday Collection:

Illamasqua Ore Pigment is described as a rich antique bronze.
I swear that By Terry has ruined me for YSL, because I wasn’t very impressed with Touche D’Or. It’s cute… but it still doesn’t hold a candle to the By Terry illuminators, or the Light pens from Elis Faas.

I smudged part of it out to show you that it’ll blend down to a nice shimmer. It’s nice… but certainly not covet-worthy.

Finally, the entire reason for my sephora purchase (I wanted the free shipping): The Dior Lipgloss in Silver:

As you can see, it’s not really silver. It’s more of an iridescent grey. There is a multicolored shimmer in the gloss, to make it a bit more ‘silvery’…

I think this gloss would work best if it’s layered over something else. I wore it alone, and I really couldn’t see any major difference on my lips. The formula is EXCELLENT though. Non-sticky and long wearing. It’s not a color that’ll move you on it’s own. I’m going to layer it next time and see what happens.

That’s my little haul! Ciao for now!

For my Baby Sister: MAUVEMENT

MAC’s new Fabulous Felines Collection boasts one MUST HAVE: Mauvement Pigment.

The other colors are lovely (GoldStroke and Old Gold are noteworthy) but mauvement really stands out.
My baby sister was interested in the pigment, but concerned that the taupe shimmer would go ashy on brown skin. Not the case! Observe:

The color is actually a cross between mauve and taupe. Typically, these colors go ‘cool’ and tend to ash out on brown skin. But MAC shot this particular pigment through with healthy dose of gold. So it goes on like this:

Not bad, right? This is what it looks like in the container:
Here you go baby sis! I hope this helps. Like I said, the rest of the collection is nice, but certainly not in ‘rush out and buy’ fashion. This is the only pigment that really stood out to me, so it’s the one that became part of my makeup collection.
