First, Full Disclosure:
Here’s what they sent me: One foundation in #350, and one sheer lip color in Anemone. First I’ll take a closer look at the foundation…
The packaging reminds me of Estee Lauder’s Double Wear Light, easy to handle and dispense. The formula is supposed to be light and airy, much like Chanel’s Vitalumiere Aqua. According to the provided material, the key ingredients to making this possible include cucumber water, natural jojoba, and rosehip extracts. Sounds wonderful, right? Well, I will tell you that those ingredients do not a ‘weightless’ foundation make.
This is the color that they sent me. As you can see, it’s much too light for me. But that didn’t stop me from putting it on my face… to test the ‘weightlessness’ of the foundation. It’s not. I can feel it… and no I am not going to show you guys the picture. I looked ghastly! lol
Now, I was worried that the foundation might dry to that same powdery finish as Revlon Photo Finish, but it didn’t do that either. It just sat there. My oily skin was not a fan.
Not that I should worry. This color is among the darker shades offered in the Nature Luxe line. The colors that run ‘darker’ than this tend to go ‘brownish/purple.’ Yeah, I don’t know anyone that color either. I was surprised, and disappointed at this discovery while recently stalking the line in a Target (store). On the flip side, there are a TON of color variations for fair skinned beauties. So if you are on the other side of the color spectrum, you might like this foundation because there are many more choices for you.
Next, I tried the sheer lipbalm:
This color is such a distinct orange red, that I was almost put off by it. Turns out, my fears were totally unfounded because this balm is GORGEOUS on:
Look at that! Kind of reminds me of Chanel’s Rouge Coco Shine in Rebelle. Love this! Keeper. It also has a smell to it that reminds me of my childhood. Does anyone remember that gawd-awful lip gloss that used to come with a roller on top. it was from the 80’s and the name totally escapes me right now. It would dispense too much product and leave your lips looking horrid. But I LOVED it! I especially loved the smell. This reminds me of it in smell only. The Cover Girl lip balm is much better in terms of dispensing product, quality, and color.
So, thumbs up for the balm… thumbs down for the foundation. And here’s the thing: I have no actual use for this foundation. I don’t use anything that I don’t like, on my clients. SO…. I’m giving it away.
Here’s the deal: if you fit this color description (#350) then leave me your email addy in the comment box. I will randomly choose one of you guys and ship you this foundation. I also have four coupons for $2 off a purchase of the foundation. I’ll randomly choose four people for those to go to. We’ll let this run for about a week. How about we announce the winner next Tuesday (May 10th).
Good luck everyone!
