Cirque du Soleil: IRIS

While many of you Divas were out cutting up and shopping to your heart’s content for Fashion’s Night Out ( I wanted to go out… but passed for a worthy cause)…

I was in a theater, taking in Cirque Du Soleil: IRIS:

It was hubby’s birthday, so I took him to the show as a gift. Since he’s a filmmaker, it’s only natural that he’d be attracted to a show about a journey through the world of cinema. It was QUITE the spectacle… we really had a good time.

For the show, I wanted to do something a little ‘Old Hollywood’ with a shimmery twist. It didn’t quite work out that way. I ended up with lush lashes and a berry lip. Ah well, it was close enough:

IMATS: The Haul

So here’s what came home with me from this year’s IMATS:

I told you guys that NAKED got all my money. I bought the deluxe set of creams, which translates into four full size and four travel size containers of the cream. Allegedly, you can use it EVERYWHERE and even use it to boost your own products. So, that’s what I’ve been doing… I’ve pretty much mixed it with everything, and in the last 24 hours I’ve put it in my hair, on my face, and on my body. It’s chock full of fabulous ingredients (aloe barbadensis, melaluca honey), so I feel very safe using it.

So far, so good.

Bronze Bonanza from Napoleon Perdis. Nothing in this set is actually bronze, but whatever. It was 20 bucks…and it’ll do in a pinch.

Total glitterbomb. But I can see this making a nice eyeshadow. I’ll figure it out.
The lipgloss isn’t really bronze either. But again… it’s whatever.
They gave me this gloss for filling out an information sheet.
It’s a decent summer gloss. And hey, it was free. I am NOT complaining.
DEX Lip Gloss in Columbus Avenue Copper.
Kevyn Aucoin Diaphonous Radiance Powder.

NAKED Cosmetic Pigment Stack in Sierra Nevada. These pigments are safe for use EVERYWHERE, including eyes, lips and even nails. MAC… I’m looking at you. NAKED is over here showing you all the way up!

A lovely gift from the lady at Crown Brushes. Bianca and I were among the last to leave, and the IMATS people were pushing us out the door. The owner was MORTIFIED and ran after us with a brush each for us. She was so apologetic and sweet. We totally appreciated it.

Bindi and Deep Plum eye pencil from Sumita Beauty. This place is local, and offers a professional discount. Who knew?

Kevyn Aucoin Brush Roll.
That’s my haul from IMATS! Ciao for now!

FOTD: Hot Off The Red Carpet

I used EVERYTHING in the Lorac ‘Hot Off The Red Carpet’ Collection… and just WOW. The quality of all of the products puts some luxury brands to shame (and I should know, lol). I’m very impressed with this collection. I got it from a local beauty supply store (Naimies) and I’m pretty sure I got the last one. This is SO worth a giveaway. If I ever find another one…

In Search of the Perfect Gel Liner…

Dear Beautiful People,

I need your help. I’m in search of the perfect gel liner. Here’s what I DON’T like: Stila Smudge Pots (dry out within a couple of months… no matter how well you care for them), Pop Beauty Hot Pot Gel Liner (worked like a dream for about 2 weeks… then dried out) and MAC cream and gel liners.

I need a new… GOOD liner! I prefer a good slip; I don’t like the drier gel versions. Here’s what I’m starting out with, in my quest to find the perfect liner:

This thing cost me $25 bucks! Boo!!!! It better work like a damned charm, ’cause it’s small as HELL!

Next to Stila…

Next to MAC…

I got it because there was EXCELLENT slip on the tester. And I figure, if folks have been in and out of it… accidentally leaving the top off… and messing around with it and it STILL has excellent slip, it might just be worth the 25 smackers. But the thing is so small that I may personally cuss out the person behind this brand if it turns out to be bogus.

Meanwhile… can you guys suggest some good gel liners? What are your favorites?
