I’ve been doing a lot of reading about the philosophy behind Ellis Faas lateley, and one of the things that most fascinates me is the concept of ‘human colors.’ Every color in the brand is a perfect imitation of a color that is produced naturally by the human body.
With this in mind, I went in search of two of the most natural (on my skin tones) colors that the brand produces. I came up with Blush in S303, and Milky Lips in L209.
Blush in S303
Milky Lips in L209
The lip color is strange, but a complete nude shade on me. I find it actually needs a bit of help with dimension… likely in the form of a complimentary lip pencil. The formula for both is light, and the finish is very ‘skin’ like. The lip formula is so light that I actually pressed my lips together a few times to make sure I had it on throughout the day. It’s good stuff.

Tonight, I learned a little something about Ellis Faas:
This little bullet shaped beauty contains the most amazing product…
Ellis Faas features a complete line of makeup, all contained in these bullet like objects and dispensed by twisting the cap a the bottom to fill a sponge or brush at the tip:
This particular bullet pen contains a waterproof cream from the ‘light’ collection, in the color E301….
It’s like RMK’s Metallic Gold Eyeshadow and a Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream got together and had a baby. OMG. It’s a stunning true gold (not yellow or green) and once it sets (30 seconds), it doesn’t budge! It can be blended down to a liquid shimmer on all skin tones. I love this stuff. I may have to get a backup. Seriously. Since MUFE doesn’t make an Aqua Cream in this color, I’d be totally justified.
Now, the lip color:
That’s a GLOSS people, from the Milky Lips collection in L204. Stunning. It’s opaque, but completely weightless. It almost reminds me of a stain… except it doesn’t. It’s not sticky or worrisome in any way. I may need a backup of this too… hmph.
There is SO much to choose from with this line, and I’m just getting started. The price is middle of the road (more expensive than MAC, much cheaper than By Terry) and there is truly something for everybody in this makeup line. From wild to demure, Ellis Faas is ambitiously aiming to be all things to all people. From where I sit, it looks like they’re off to a fabulous start.
