Flawless Finish: LORAC CC Cream

Did you know LORAC made a CC Cream? I sure didn’t. I was so surprised when I came across this little gem at the PHAMExpo over the weekend.  I was a little concerned when I saw how light the colors ran (the darkest color is tan… and honestly it looks more like beige), but it turns out the formula is totally self adjusting.

Now, it turns out that you can use ‘too much ‘of this stuff. I found that out the hard way while rushing to put on makeup this morning. Not a good idea. A little bit goes a long way, and you should really  blend it in and wait a minute to give it time to do its thing.

Look how light that is! I was giving this formula the serious side eye…
Initial application…
…about 60 seconds later.

Turns out, this stuff totally works. It’s chock full of skin care goodness. Check out the ingredients:

I had just a teeny bit of time today, but I wanted to give the Ellis Faas foundation a run. It performed wonderfully. In case anyone is wondering why I ended up with my color, and a darker one… it’s in preparation for the summer, when I will undoubtedly tan.

(CLOSED) HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY: LORAC Eye Candy Collection

I saw this and just HAD to do it for a giveaway. LORAC has released the coolest collection of eye and face colors, all packaged up to look like chocolate holiday candy.

I used the Sephora pictures for this because my pictures don’t even REMOTELY do justice to this collection. It is AMAZING. There are six ‘candy bars’ with four colors each. Each bar represents a different color scheme. I fell head over heels in love with this idea, and there was no way I was going to pass up an opportunity to pay it forward.

Blushed: LORAC Pro Powder Cheek Stain

LORAC is changing the way we blush, with a new selection of ‘cheek stains’ that change the way I’ve been looking at blush… and stains.

Check these out:

They look like regular powder blushes. But one swipe of the finger tells a totally different story. These things are SO soft. They’re softer than any blush I’ve ever felt. There’s nothing really ‘powdery’ about them. They’re not wet, but they really ‘stick’ to the skin… like a stain.

Ruby Rouge           Coral Crush           Petal Pink
Plum Passion                       Rosy Glow
I swatched these with my fingers because I truly believe that’s the best way to apply these colors. They are so intense… but you can blend them out for a nice ‘blush’ and adjust the sheerness or intensity as you like. I am completely impressed by the pigmentation level and utter silken feel of these blushes.
I can’t say I’ve ever quite used a ‘powder’ blush like this before.
I tried to pick a favorite, but I’m stuck between Ruby (which is shot through with a healthy dose of gold) and Rosy. In truth, they are ALL gorgeous, and really versatile. I dare say that just about anyone can use these blushes. With the exception of Petal Pink (which is suited to fair to medium skin tones), the rest of the colors can be used on a wide range of skin tones.

Glow On: LORAC 3d Lustre (Gold)

You guys remember when I went nuts over the first LORAC 3d Lustre Drops? Well, Carol Shaw did it again… this time in gold:

I was so excited when I saw these drops that I nearly forgot to test them first (what if they sucked?)… and immediately popped a bottle into my basket. Like its predecessor, the golden lustre drops can be used just about anywhere on the face, and offer a distinctly ‘golden’ highlight. The drops also set in about 20 seconds (I found it did not budge after that time) and a little goes a very long way.

That’s one drop.

Look at that! Amazing, right? Just pure gold. I was completely blown away by the opacity of the color and the depth of the golden shimmer. Just gorgeous.

This stuff is fantastic. I love it. I had to take it off with makeup remover… it truly would not move without a little extra cleansing, so I think I’ll work very well on this oily skin of mine.
