By Terry Summer 2013 (Summer Splash)

By Terry is gearing up for Summer, with a set of waterproof sweat resistant goodies.

From the left: Hyaluronic Blushes in BlushBerry and Peach Posh, Hyaluronic Summer Bronzing Veil, and Lash Coat Mascara (which makes any mascara waterproof).

The stars for me are the bronzing viel and the berry colored blush:

The Bronzing Veil in Medium Tan is a dead ringer for my skin tone. The blush in Blushberry is also perfect. The peach color went ashy on me. It’s definitely suited to fairer skin tones.

Both come in easy to use tubes, and a little bit goes a long way. Both of these products can be layered for intensity. And they smell AMAZING. Like Orange Blossom and Rose essential oils… just so good. Like all By Terry products, these makeup items double as skin care. Both are designed to attract moisture from the environment, onto your skin. But the result is not ‘oily.’ It’s fresh. I was amazed by how well both products wore all day, with no touchups.

Hyaluronic Summer:

The unexpected perk of this Bronzing Veil is that the finish is MATTE. NO shimmer! Love that… especially for my oily skin. Now, I didn’t see any spf listed on this formula, so I mixed it with sunscreen before I applied it (no primer). Worked like a dream. It really sticks to my oily skin, even without a primer. That’s something.

Hyaluronic Blush:

So this is one layer of the blush. You can layer it several times over to get a bit of deeper hue… but not much. The formla imitates skin, like the Armani Blushing Veil. You can put this on bare skin, or layer it over foundation. It adheres beautifully either way. I didn’t think that it would be strong enough on my warm skin tone, but I was surprised to find that it wore all day (I layered it over foundation and under powder)… and I still had a ‘flush’ by the time I took it off.

The Bronzing Veil goes one lighter (Fair Tan) and one shade darker (Ultra Tan)… I’d say it’s NC45 for comparison. It’s very warm, with a hint of a reddish undertone. It’s amazing. I’d definitely recommend it for oily skin types because it appears to be silicone based and doesn’t encourage any oil production.

The blush has a bit of a shimmer… which worried me at first. But when you put it on, the shimmer disappears. About five minutes after applying it… the blush just starts to look like your skin, with a natural flush.

I love both of these products. I skipped the mascara because I already have the Anastasia version, which works the same way.
