Eye Adore: Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner

Eyeliners have come, gone, and come back again… and it’s still hard to top Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner. The formula glides on and stays put. It’s kind of hard to top this formula. Recently, I came across the eyeliner in Caviar… which is basically the darkest possible brown.

Bobbi Brown Gel Liners in Caviar, Black, and the Ultra Fine Liner Brush.

I put it up against the black gel eyeliner, to give you an idea of contrast. But alone, in natural light, it appears to be nearly black.

The Ultra Fine Liner brush isn’t ultra fine at first glance, but it draws a pretty impressive line. You can use the side of the brush for the thinnest possible line, or use it flat for a thicker line.

Caviar is on the left, and Black is on the right. You can find out more about Bobbi Brown Gel Liners HERE.

Giveaway: YSL Shocking Gel Liner (Cherry Black)

Hey Guys,

I thought I’d share the fabulousness that is YSL Shocking Gel Liners… with a Giveaway! I decided to give away the Cherry Black, because I think it’s the most wearable for just about any skin tone.

 I reviewed/swatched it here:

YSL Shocking: Cherry Black Gel Eyeliner

Thanks to my little sister Amanda, I was able to locate the final Gel Eyeliner from YSL’s new Shocking collection:

Cherry Black is more of a warm purple. Like the others, it swatches strong, sets and stays put until you take it off. These are really good liners. Kudos to YSL. This latest collection is totally awesome.

YSL Shocking: Swatches

Okay, here’s what came home with me from the YSL Shocking Collection:

Mascara in Black
Eyeliner Effet Faux Cils
Eyeliner Effet Faux Cils (Gel Eye Liner)
 Sea Black   Ashy Black
Jade Black   Deep Black
Bronze Black
Sea Black
 Ashy Black
Jade Black
Deep Black
Bronze Black
Sea, Ashy, Jade, Deep, Bronze
These gel liners are VERY strong… even when I took them off with makeup remover… a black stain remained. All of the colors are black based, so if you dip the brush in and then wipe on white tissue, the resulting color is BLACK. It’s the freakiest thing. I’m really in love with all of them. I even nearly got Cherry Black (the purple) but it was already sold out!
If you’re looking for a good gel liner with serious color payoff, you really can’t go wrong with these. They have excellent slip, and they do NOT MOVE once they’ve set.

EOTN: Practice (eventually) Makes Perfect

I should be asleep. Really. I have to get up early tomorrow and face the world all bright eyed and bushy tailed…
Instead, I’m up… practicing my eyeliner application:

I just set the canvas with the Sleek Contour Kit in Light. I ran highlight color all over the lid and then put the matte contour color through the crease. I darkened by brows with Rock & Republic eyeshadow in Fatalistic. The liner is a Clinique Gel Liner in True Black. Mascara is Buxom.

I can always use more practice in the eyeliner department. I tend to miss more often than hit… so I’ll keep at it until I change those odds.

In Search of the Perfect Gel Liner…

Dear Beautiful People,

I need your help. I’m in search of the perfect gel liner. Here’s what I DON’T like: Stila Smudge Pots (dry out within a couple of months… no matter how well you care for them), Pop Beauty Hot Pot Gel Liner (worked like a dream for about 2 weeks… then dried out) and MAC cream and gel liners.

I need a new… GOOD liner! I prefer a good slip; I don’t like the drier gel versions. Here’s what I’m starting out with, in my quest to find the perfect liner:

This thing cost me $25 bucks! Boo!!!! It better work like a damned charm, ’cause it’s small as HELL!

Next to Stila…

Next to MAC…

I got it because there was EXCELLENT slip on the tester. And I figure, if folks have been in and out of it… accidentally leaving the top off… and messing around with it and it STILL has excellent slip, it might just be worth the 25 smackers. But the thing is so small that I may personally cuss out the person behind this brand if it turns out to be bogus.

Meanwhile… can you guys suggest some good gel liners? What are your favorites?
