This was quick.. and I have to say, I’m really getting the hang of the Chanel Illusion d’Ombre shadows. I find that they have the most staying power when I used them over powder. But it I use them alone, they’ll also really stick if I use my fingers… not a brush. This face lasted all day. I put it on at 8am… and people were still commenting on it by 6pm in the evening. No touch-ups.
Since I purchased Chanel’s Illusion d’Ombre shadow in Fantasme… I’ve never gotten to use it on myself! I’ve used it on clients and for shows… but never on me. So I decided today was the day to change that:
I didn’t think that I was going to like this one much. But I have to say, right behind Mirfique (shimmer black), Fantasme is one of my favorites in the Illusion d’ Ombre Collection.
It is the most sparkling white that I’ve ever seen in a formula. It’s counterpart would likely be the Aqua Cream from Make Up For ever in #4. But the latter looks downright dull in comparison:
Fantasme is mostly sparkle. I do NOT recommend using this alone, unless ‘disco ball’ is the look that you are going for. I think that Fantasme works best when layered over mattes to give the color dimension and add shimmer. Think of it like putting ‘glitter’ on top of your finished look, without worrying about fallout.
Next to the Aqua Cream (on the bottom) you can definitely see the shimmer in Fantasme. The Aqua Cream swatches more solid.
I like this one. I am putting right next to Mirifique as my new favorite.
