Coming Soon: Fresh Fruit & Flowers!

We’re gearing up for the big ‘thaw’ as Spring 2013 approaches. We thought the best way to get everyone’s skin ready to show for the warmer months, was to boost it with healing fruit acids and uplifting floral oils!

So we’re boosting a Habibi Favorite: POMEGRANATE. The new blend will contain even more Vitamin C packed Pomegranate juice… to help brighten and improve the overall look of your skin. We’re also boosting the level of Organic Essential ingredients to support the new blend.

LEMON TEA is coming back! For a limited time, the smooth ‘sweet tart’ fragrance will be back on the Habibi roster. We keep limited quantities of this amazing blend because that’s the best way to keep it absolutely fresh. For those of you who listed this fragrance as a favorite, look for it to show up around Mid-March.

PINK GRAPEFRUIT will make it’s debut on the eve of Spring 2013! This fresh squeezed blend will not only brighten your skin, it’ll help ‘lift’ your spirits as well! We worked hard to find the perfect balance between sweet and sour, to create a fragrance that mixes perfectly with our best selling products.

We’re also gearing up for a sale to celebrate the arrival of Spring! So stay tuned for updates, and HAPPY SHOPPING!

Deodorant vs. Anti-Perspirant

Which is better?

This is an ongoing argument. So for the purpose of balance, I’m going to weigh both sides.

The difference between deodorant and anti-perspirant is… in a word… sweat. Deodorant simply ‘deodorizes’ — while anti-perspirant blocks pores to keep you from sweating.

The rant against anti-perspirant is that because it blocks your pores and prevents your skin from ‘breathing’ (through the use of pore clogging aluminum, mica, and silica), it can damage your body. This is partially true. But the reality is that said damage typically comes as a result of continued use. It’s one of those ‘too much of anything can likely be bad for you’ things. It is absolutely true that excessive use of anti-perspirant can potentially lead to rashes, boils, or other skin complaints.

The rant against deodorant is that it doesn’t prevent you from sweating. Excessive sweating can lead to a number of issues, the primary one being public embarrassment. Nothing worth than pit stains on a person. It just looks bad. And sweat can stain delicate fabrics, and sometimes do irreparable damage.

Our solution?

Sea Salt.

It’s not a guaranteed sweat deterrent, but it comes pretty darn close. We blend salt with astringent and disinfecting botanicals and essential oils, to try and keep pits as dry and ‘deodorized’ as possible… without actually blocking pores and preventing sweat.

Will it keep you from sweating? No. Will it help keep you from stinking? Yep. Now, in all fairness, I believe that every now and then, you’re going to need to actually employ the power of an anti-perspirant. But, like all things in life, moderation is key. Keep your pits ‘deodorized’ on the daily (the smelling public will thank you). But in the interest of preserving your favorite silk blouse… keep a little ‘anti perspirant’ handy, just in case.
