I previewed the By Terry Holiday 2012 collection… the actual pieces of the collection are slow to manifest though. They are now available at Barneys online and Space NK online. But there is no physical display at my local Space NK. I’m told that it’s coming.
So I ordered the Kohl Terrybly in Opaline Flash from Barneys:
It’s a pale pink shimmer pencil, meant to add ‘light’ to the inside of your eyes and really open them up. It reminds me a lot of Chanel’s Rose Platine Crayon, but a bit brighter. I’d say this is perfect for fair skinned beauties, and will look amazing with a wide range of Holiday makeup looks.
The pencil is smooth, and actually blends out to a soft pink shimmer… which is how I’ll likely use it. You can find out more about By Terry Kohl in Opaline Flash HERE.
Every time I think that maybe I’ve overstated my love for the brand By Terry, something new is released and I fall in love all over again! Edwin at Space NK showed me the new Crayon Kohl Pencils from By Terry, and trust me… they are to DIE for.
I bought them in waves… two at a time. I think there are five. I bought four. There’s a purple that will have to wait, as it’s not nearly as stunning as the first four and therefore did not have to come home with me right away.
Black Print, Blue Vision, Brown Stellar, Bronze Generation
(I have no idea how she comes up with these names)
These pencils remind me a lot of the Urban Decay variety regarding slip and staying power. They are incredibly smooth, set in about 30 seconds and DO NOT MOVE unless you take them off with oil based cleanser. Edwin tried to take the swatches off my arm with a water based cleanser and I swear we heard the pencils laughing at us! They stay put, and they wear beautifully. I’ve already used (and resharpened) the brown one several times. I’m trying out the blue one next.
They’re not cheap, but by By Terry standards, they’re hardly expensive. They retail for about 30 bucks each. You can get them at http://www.spacenk.com
Now, it’s true that when I’m rushing… I tend to reach for orange. It’s a flattering color on me, really easy to blend into my warmed toned skin, and hard for me to screw up:
