Beauty Breakdown: Classic Red Lips

This is a look I did some months ago, on a petite little beauty named Ali. As you can see her skin is VERY pale, but I was up to the challenge of a bright red lip, that didn’t look too garish on her fair skin. Here’s what I used:
FACE:
MAC Stick foundation in NW15
Bobbi Brown Color Corrector in Bisque
MAC Prep & Prime Powder (just under the eyes over the concealer)
MAC Powder Blush in Peaches
EYES:
MAC Gesso (lashline to Brow)
MAC Brule (lid)
Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in Black (lashline)
MUFE Aqua Eyes in Black (waterline and smudged just beneath lashline)
MUFE Smoky Lash Mascara
LIPS:
Urban Decay 24/7 Lipliner in Clear (on natural lipline, used to seal in the color)
Urban Decay 24/7 Lipliner in Gash (just inside natural lipline)
Chanel Rouge Allure Laque in Dragon
Dior Addict Lip Gloss in Red Stockings

I just brushed through Ali’s brows… I didn’t want them to look too done (then I feel the look would have gone from ‘polished’ to ‘drag.’) Putting a classic red lip on really pale skin can sometimes be a bit daunting, but I find that ‘sealing’ the lipline before coloring it in, really really helps. Instead of a sealing pencil, you can aslo use concealer. But Ali is SO fair that concealer might have created another line that needed to be blended out, and another challenge. As you can see, I chose the path of least resistance.
