Luxury Grade: Amore Pacific Skin Renewal Foundation

I’m a little worried about how much I like this stuff. I  bought it on sale… on a fluke, just to see what happened. I got it online (I know! SMH to me), crossed my fingers, and hoped for the best. I was so worried that the color would be off (yellow base/206), but it turned out to be PERFECT.

The packaging is just ridiculous…  like, it’s completely over the top (in a good way?). It takes a bit of doing to get to the product itself. That made me worried too. I’ve found that sometimes when packaging is just doing the MOST in terms of trying to impress you, it’s because the actual product is bogus.

That’s not the case with this foundation.

Odd little dispenser, right? But I love it because it’s totally sanitary. It dispenses just enough product to cover the entire face.
And the formula… omg the formula!

It’s so smooth, and it is absolutely traceless. I read somewhere that this foundation coverage was sheer… it’s not. It’s a solid medium coverage, but can be built to full coverage. There’s nothing sheer about it at all.

Now, if I had a complaint, it would be about the color range. 206 (my shade) is as dark as this foundation goes. But there is a full ‘pink based’ range in the 100’s, so fair skinned beauties can rejoice! The 200 range is yellow-based, so make your selections accordingly.
I’m really loving this foundation… and I’m really worried about that, because this can get to be an expensive habit. You can find the full line of Amore Pacific products at Neiman Marcus.

Face Forward: Le Metier de Beaute Classic Flawless Foundation

I know that I’ve been a Le Metier de Beaute kick lately. I finally got around to trying the Classic Flawless Foundation (my shade is 11), and I have to say that it’s definitely good enough to buy:

Now, before ya’ll start fussing about how I JUST got the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation (I actually got this some time before that), you should know that they are distinctly different. Chanel’s version absorbs into this the skin, while this one acts more like a cream and less like a liquid. It has a solid medium coverage that can be built to a nearly full coverage.

As you can see, it initially sets to a dewy finish… but then dries down to a soft finish. I like this for a heavier coverage … for more dramatic looks. Because of my oily skin, I WILL have to powder it, but I love the finish. It also has a bit of weight to it, but it’s not so bad that I’d want to take it off. It’s still lighter than any cream foundation that I’ve ever used.

I’ve used it twice now, and so far… so good.
