Product Review: Cellnique Skin Care

I was contacted by Cellnique Pharmaceuticals to review some of their products… and I have to admit, at first I was skeptical. I’m very particular about skincare, and I feel funny about putting just ‘anything’ on it. I replied with my specific needs (oily/acne prone/sensitive/anti-ageing), and they sent me two products:

Advanced Bio Renewal Masque:

Here’s what it claims: “This unparalleled scrub masque is formulated with bio-captured fresh fruit enzymes and acids complex. It works effectively in exfoliating dead cells, optimizing cellular renewal performance and deep pore cleansing, thus revealing a softer, fresher and healthier skin.”

My take: The masque is lovely. It smells distinctly of fresh fruit, and contains exfoliants that work as you apply it. When I rinsed it, I found that my skin was really smooth and brighter. I fell in love with this mask after the first use… and used it over a period of 30 days (once weekly) before finally deciding in its favor. It’s an item that I would definitely purchase in the future, because it works.

The Bio Renewal Masque retails for $51 at

They also sent the Amino Collagen C Intense Set:

Here’s what it claims: “A highly intensive skin rejuvenating combination which targets large pores, the appearance of fine lines and sagging skin. The Amino Collagen C Intense Set consists of two serums work synergistically to encourage a firm, youthful and elastic quality skin.”

My Take: The first step BURNED LIKE THE DICKENS. OMG! My skin was so angry with me, and then I read the information on the website, which states that if you have sensitive skin (like I do) then you should reverse the order of application (part II first, then part 1). Okay, so I did that. Still tingled a bit, but not like the searing pain the first time around.

Here’s my honest opinion: it didn’t make a difference in my skin. I cut out my regular skin routine to give both of these products my full attention. My skin responded to the mask, but not the intense set. I used both bottles until they were empty, and took before and after photos (which I will not show you, because I was not happy with them). No difference. And I think that it upset my hormone balance or something because I’ve been getting like one cystic pimple a week, steady, for about a month. That’s the duration with my time with this particular product. My skin also became very photo-sensitive, so I had to double-up on sunscreen.

So, the Collagen C Intense Set was a no-go for me.

I will definitely purchase the masque in the future. It works, and the price point is agreeable for me. You can find out more about Cellnique Pharmaceuticals directly from their website.
