Hubby and I went out to see this guy for a few laughs:
I decided that it was as good a time as any to try out the new Kimiko Hydrating Tint. It performed beyond expectations. Total keeper. Seriously.

I went all peach and shimmer with a strange brown eyeline for this look. I didn’t really have a plan. Just kept it sheer and warm:
These are really nice. So nice, in fact, that I feel they can give the NARS Multiples are real run for the money.
I went to cash in some points at ULTA, and left with the new Cargo ColorStick in St Tropez…
I chose St Tropez because for me, its the most unique of the bunch. It has a distinct peach (not orange) color with a shot of gold. Really summery. I think that it’ll work on both warm and cool skin tones because the peach shade is so neutral. I swatched it, and was instantly sold.
One of the things I love about this product is that it’ll work fine on oily skin. It’s got a creamy texture, but the color sets in about 60 seconds and it doesn’t move. I’ve used it on my bare skin (with just a little mascara and lip gloss) and it has held up beautifully. I think this will be a definite Summer staple.
You can find out more about Cargo ColorSticks HERE.
I put the Hourglass Primer through the paces. I’m happy to report that it performed very well on my oily skin. Definitely keeping this one around…
A client wanted to know if I could smoke her eyes ALL THE WAY OUT… make ’em dark and glittery and use some kind of funky lash to bring it all together?
Of course.
My stupid camera would NOT focus on the closed eye shots… I think it was the shimmer. I don’t know. But you get the gist. She was very happy with the results. I paired her extreme eyes with a sheer lavender cheek and and ultra nude lip.
Picture from her camera came out MUCH better:
What I used:
Louise Young Eyeshadow in Maowi (brows)
Cargo Eye Pencil in Black (waterline)
MAC Paint Pot in Imaginary (base)
Cargo Eye Shadow in Metallico (outer crease and under waterline)
Chanel Illusion d’Ombre in Illusiore (lids)
Kevyn Aucoin Eyeshadow in Platinum (inner corner/under waterline)
YSL Shock Gel Liner in Deep Black (lashline)
Illamasqua False Lashes (#24)
After I crawled home from last night’s video shoot, I grabbed a couple hours of sleep and was up bright and early this morning for the next thing. Omg… it’s times like these when I realize that I am NOT 20 years old anymore and I can’t function (nor do I want to) properly on 2 minutes of sleep! LOL
So I reached for ‘lemon’ colored shadows and some gentle contouring to try and open my eyes up and make me appear like I got 8 hours of Beauty Sleep:
EYES
Rock & Republic Eyeshadow in Tribal (brows)
Bare Minerals Prime Time Eyelid Primer (lashline to brow)
Make Up For Ever Eyeshadow in Yellow (lids)
Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow in Bronze (crease/under waterline)
NARS Eyeshadow in Mekong (outer corner)
Guerlain Retractable Pencil in #1 (waterline)
Armani Eyes To Kill Silk Eyeshadow
I reached for my homemade Make Up For Ever Eyeshadow Palette for this look:
I totally wore this all day like I was doing a night job or a fashion show. Ehhhh, I was in that kind of mood:
I think I’m wearing about 15 pounds of makeup in this FOTD… I was trying to make a point. You should know that I blended the HECK out of everything… and still in the pictures, you can see parts that look like they need a little more. This was a bit of a lesson for me. Despite the many layers of concealer and highlighter, the makeup still came out looking pretty natural in real life. However, the flash on my camera lit me in most UNNATURAL fashion:
Our talent for the evening was a lovely lady from Iceland… who had the most amazing voice. I’m always blown away by the ‘control’ needed to really hold a jazz note. Her performance was exquisite. I think the two people sitting there in front were on a first date. Hubby and I did a bit of ‘people watching’ , and we’re pretty sure it was their first time out together.
Of note: Tom Jones was there to eat and relax. My mother-in-law is going to LOVE that when I tell her. Our songstress tried to get him to come up and sing, but he declined. We applauded him anyway.
All in all, it was a good night, and a great Anniversary. We’ll do it again next year!
I wanted to try a new Cargo shadow that I got… that sort of resembles liquid glitter. I paired it with Chanel cream shadow in Mirifique for a quick look:
