FOTD: RCS Brilliance

I built a simple look around the new Las Vegas de Chanel RCS in Brilliance:

Amore Pacific Skin Renewal Foundation (206)
Kevyn Aucoin Radiant Diaphanous Powder
Chantecaille Aqua Blush in Brilliance
Chanel Eclosion Quad: Gold color on the lids
Tarte Eyeshadow in Werewolf in the crease
YSL Shocking Gel Liner in Deep Black on the lashline
Guerlain Retractable Gold Pencil on the waterline
Guerlain Noir G Mascara
Chanel Lip Pencil in Nude
Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Brilliance

Las Vegas de Chanel: Brilliance & Vegas Gold

I got two items from the Las Vegas de Chanel Collection: Rouge Coco Shine in Brilliance and the Lip Pencil in Vegas Gold:

Both are a bright yellow gold… shot through with a multi shimmer. The finishes of both items are pretty sheer as well. I think they work better with other colors and formulas. The RCS works if you just want a sheer  pop of gold on your lips… but it is not opaque like a lipstick (which is probably a good thing). The pencil is surprisingly warm… and wearable.

Lip Pencil in Vegas Gold
See? Sheer. It’s actually a lot more opaque in person, but the flash pushed right through the color. Also, this combination (pencil and RCS) is good for a concept look, but a bit garish for real life. It’s very yellow and high on the sparkle. So unless you want disco-ball lips, I suggest you tone these products down in practical application with other neutral colors and formulas.
For the moment, I am passing on the Lucky Stripes Bronzer/Highlighter. Damned near $100 bucks is a LOT to ask, even if it’s from Chanel. I’m thinking about it. We’ll see.
That’s it for my Las Vegas de Chanel haul. Ciao for now!

Glow On: Chantecaille Aqua Blush (Brilliance)

Blame the anticipation of the Las Vegas de Chanel Collection… but I was in the mood for something gold. So I poked around the local Beauty Supply Store, and found Chantecaille Aqua Blush in Brilliance:

Pictures just don’t do it justice… OMG. It’s not really gold or bronze… but some lovely combination of both. It’s cool to the touch (like all Chantecaille Aqua Blushes) and sets in about 30 seconds. That turned out to be a challenge for the swatches. By the time I finished taking the picture of the first swatch… it set! I had a little trouble moving it around to get the second and third shots.

It kind of just ‘adds’ light. It’s GORGEOUS. Now… the bad news. This blush is apparently going to be (or has been) discontinued. I know… CALL EVERYONE! lol They had about 7 at the local beauty supply store… if it wasn’t a cream product (which can go bad), I’d certainly try to snap up a few more. Eh… no such luck.

BUT, all is not lost. You can get it online (you guys, that is… I certainly don’t need another one)…

Check it out:

Happy Shopping!
