Coming Soon: Fresh Fruit & Flowers!

We’re gearing up for the big ‘thaw’ as Spring 2013 approaches. We thought the best way to get everyone’s skin ready to show for the warmer months, was to boost it with healing fruit acids and uplifting floral oils!

So we’re boosting a Habibi Favorite: POMEGRANATE. The new blend will contain even more Vitamin C packed Pomegranate juice… to help brighten and improve the overall look of your skin. We’re also boosting the level of Organic Essential ingredients to support the new blend.

LEMON TEA is coming back! For a limited time, the smooth ‘sweet tart’ fragrance will be back on the Habibi roster. We keep limited quantities of this amazing blend because that’s the best way to keep it absolutely fresh. For those of you who listed this fragrance as a favorite, look for it to show up around Mid-March.

PINK GRAPEFRUIT will make it’s debut on the eve of Spring 2013! This fresh squeezed blend will not only brighten your skin, it’ll help ‘lift’ your spirits as well! We worked hard to find the perfect balance between sweet and sour, to create a fragrance that mixes perfectly with our best selling products.

We’re also gearing up for a sale to celebrate the arrival of Spring! So stay tuned for updates, and HAPPY SHOPPING!

Limited Edition Holiday Fragrance!

The new HABIBI Limited Edition Holiday Fragrance is now available! We decided (after a quick vote) that something with Ginger and Vanilla. So we did some mixing, and some smelling and some more mixing and a little testing…

And we came up with Organic (Sweet) Ginger Tea!

One of the things that we love about ginger (despite it’s spicy scent) is all of its fantastic properties. Internally, it does a bunch of wonderful things (like settle upset stomachs, and help with digestion). And externally, it helps with circulation and helps to stimulate the senses. We fell head over heels in love after mixing it with a little honey, and topping the whole thing off with Organic Tahitian Vanilla Bean.

Ginger Tea is available in Body Balm, Body Scrub and Body Bar. It will be available from December 1st until December 31st.

Happy Holiday Shopping!

Cool Weather = New Skin Routines

With temperatures dropping for the Autumn/Winter season… it’s time to beef up the ‘moisture’ portion of our skin care routines.

During the warmer months, we can get away with using a scrub alone, and going on about our business… and maybe a little lotion  here and there.

But cooler months mean a greater need for heavier balms and creams, to help our skin really hold on to moisture an stay soft.

Our favorite nighttime routine involves combining the Habibi Body Scrub and Body Balm.

First you shower (like normal), then follow with Habibi Body Scrub on clean, damp skin.

Then you rins,  pat dry, and apply a generous layer of Habibi Body Balm. Then go to bed.

The next morning… your skin will be like SILK.

You can even mix it up by combining different fragrances of Scrub and Balm. We have a few customers who are fans of combining Mandarin and Tahitian Vanilla. They say it leaves them smelling like an Orange Creamsicle (remember those?)

Try this routine… we’d love to hear how it works out for you!

Way to Wear It: Habibi Body Balm

Okay, we’ve gotten enough questions on this subject, that we’re going to just put it out there. This body balm is NOT like water based lotions or butters. It’s oil based, which amplifies its moisturizing properties. There are a lot of ‘butters’ on the market that are little more than heavy creams. They’re water based, and absorb into the skin in minutes, never to be seen or heard from again.

Habibi Body Balm is anchored with Shea Butter, which is renowned for its healing and deep moisturizing properties. Those properties are boosted with Certified Organic Argan Oil, Certified Organic Black Currant Seed Oil, and Certified Organic Camellia Seed Oil. The result is a thick ‘balm’ that adheres to the skin, and doesn’t let go until you wash it off.

The good news is, those of you with dry skin… especially during the winter months, will drink this up. Our body balm is guaranteed to get rid of any skin complaints associated with dry skin.

The bad news is, because our balm is so thick and rich, it can be a problem for delicate fabrics. Our solution comes from loyal Habibi customer and Public Relations Diva Myleik Teele. She uses it at NIGHT before she goes to bed. She says, when she wakes up in the morning… her skin is like silk, and she’s ready to take on the day. If she’s going out, she puts the balm on the exposed areas to add a ‘glow’ to her skin.

So we’ve taken the example from Miss Teele, and have decided to pass it on. Our Body Balm is one of the richest formulas on the market. A little goes a LONG way, and using more of it won’t make it more effective. All you need is a little pat.

Happy Moisturizing!

New Addition: Certified Organic Argan Oil

We’ve been working on this for a while:

We didn’t want to jump on the Argan Oil Bandwagon when it first became all the rage. We currently use a custom blend of nut and plant oils that works beautifully in all of our moisturizer products. But, I personally wanted to see what all the fuss was about, so I did some research.

Here’s what I found:

Argan oil is produced from the kernels of the Argan tree, which grows in Morocco. It’s valued for its nutritive, cosmetic and numerous medicinal properties. Argan oil remains one of the rarest oils in the world – due to the small and very specific growing areas. Argan Oil is known for its high penetrative properties. Works well on skin and hair, absorbs quickly, and encourages natural lipid production in skin.

Now, its rarity might explain the price point. Argan Oil is NOT cheap, not retail or wholesale. If you want it, you certainly have to pay for it. It took some doing, but I’ve finally been able to find Certified Organic Argan Oil, at a price that’s not cost-prohibitive in terms of retail.

So, starting in January 2012… the formulations for our Body Balms, Body Scrubs, and Body lotions will change. They will be improved, with the addition of Certified Organic Argan Oil, and replace several other oils that we’ve already decided we can do without.

We’ve already begun the reformulation process, and we assure you that the basic makeup of the formulas will  NOT change. We’ve tested the Argan replacement, and found that the products perform even better than before.
