FOTD: Sheer & Functional

I had to do my  makeup in a hurry for the ‘DIY on a Dime’ event. So I went sheer (it was still pretty hot here over the weekend), with a teeny bit of drama:

FACE
NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer (Malaga)
Inglot Gold Illuminator (mixed with TM)
MAC Blush in Immortal Flower
EYES
Armani Eyes To Kill Silk Eyeshadow in #9 (lids)
YSL Shocking Gel Liner in Deep Black (lashline)
Chanel Eye Pencil in Peche Cuivre (waterline)
Besame 1930’s Mascara
LIPS
Make Up For Ever Natural Lipstick in N6

Professional Grade: Pinup

One of the twins popped by today for a vintage ‘pinup’ look. I’m actually glad that’s what she wanted… because I’m plotting out looks for an upcoming fashion show, and I think I want to do pinup on the models. Anyway, here’s what happened:

FACE
Chanel Blanc Iluminating Primer
Dior Forever Foundation in 040
MAC Prep & Prime Loose Powder
Sleek Contour Kit in Light (contour only)
Illamasqua Blush in Nymph
EYES
MAC Eyeshadow in Brule (all over)
MAC Eyeshadow in Soft Brown (crease/under waterline)
Chanel Eye Pencil in Clair (waterline)
YSL Gel Liner in Deep Black (lashline)
Tarte Mascara
Starlet False Lashes

LIPS
Besame Lip Liner in Red Velvet
MAC Lipstick in Russian Red

EOTD: Matte’s the Way (uh huh, uh huh)

… I like it!

Forgive me, I’m feeling goofy today. I’m pretty sure I’m not getting enough sleep. Anyway, I pulled out the Louise Young Essential Eye Palette (as much as I whine about the price, I find myself using it A LOT) and used it nearly exclusively for today’s look:

 EYES
Louise Young Essential Eye Palette:
Ting (lashline to brow)
Maowi (crease)
Blackbear (lashline)
Pom Pom (brows and under waterline)
Armani Waterproof Eye Pencil in Brown
Besame 1930’s Mascara

FOTD: Givenchy Acid Brights

As I’ve stated before, there’s nothing ‘acid’ or particularly ‘bright’ about the Summer 2011 Givenchy Eyeshadow Palette. But all of the colors are lovely, and they merge very well together. Perhaps the palette should have been called ‘Soft Lights.’

EYES
MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre (base)
Givenchy Acid Brights Palette:
Yellow in the inner corners
Purple in the lids
Bronze blended through the crease
Louise Young Eyeshadow in Blackbear (brows/lashline)
Urban Decay 24/7 Gel Liner in Rockstar
Besame 1930’s Mascara
FACE
Chanel Bronze Universelle (foundation)
Chanel Loose Powder (Dore)
MAC Blush in Sur
LIPS
Chantecaille HydraChic Lipstick in Willow

FOTD: Sheer Green

Quick face today for an afternoon with the in-laws. We’ll probably be outdoors all day, so I wanted something ‘shine-friendly.’

FACE
Guerlain Terracotta Bronzer in 01
Guerlain Terra Inca Radiant Powder (as blush/highlight)
EYES
MAC Paint Pot in Moss Scape (base)
Chanel Quint (olive green) from lashline to brow
Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Zero
Besame 1930’s Mascara
LIPS
Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Canotier

FOTD: Monte Carlo

So…
I’m making my way through these Rouge Coco Shines one at a time. Today I tackled Monte Carlo. Here’s what I found… with the Framboise liner it’s a BRIGHT strawberry pink. Without, it’s a sheer warm-toned strawberry. I photographed both looks:

That’s with the Framboise liner. BRIGHT, right? But still really pretty. Then I took it off and just used Monte Carlo by itself, with no liner:

Without the liner it’s a much more sheer color… easily wearable on a bare face, or a face full of makeup. It’s a very versatile color. Love it!

FACE:
Guerlain Parure Gold (Beige 06)
Chantecaille Loose Powder (Shadow)
Chanel Blush (In Love)
EYES
Chantecaille Sea Turtles Palette (Beige Shimmer on browbone)
OCC Loose Pigment in Hum (lid)
Louise Young Eyeshadow in Pom Pom (under waterline and outer corner)
Armani Waterproof Eye Pencil in #2 (waterline)
Besame 1930’s Mascara
LIPS
Chanel Lip Pencil in Framboise
Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Monte Carlo

FOTD: MUA for The Makeup Show LA

I actually went through the trouble of putting on makeup for The Makeup Show today. I almost didn’t… but I’m glad I did because I ended up talking to more people than I normally do. I told you guys… typically I come in, pick up what I can’t get retail, and I’m out. But I actually stayed for a class (YAYY MAKE UP FOR EVER!) and bought a few things. GASP! I know, I wasn’t supposed to spend money. It’s a hard promise to keep when it comes to makeup goodies!

Anyway, back to the face:
