I think it’s fair to say that MAC Peaches Blush may be my favorite of any blush I’ve ever used. Since I’ve hit pan on not one… but TWO pots of this stuff, there’s plenty of evidence pointing to this fact. It could be that I’m incredibly lazy and the color and formulation is virtually idiot proof, or it could be that it’s just a damn good color on any warm toned skin, including mine.
*why do I look so damn tired in this picture? Oh wait… because I am. jet lag is the devil.*
When I don’t feel like doing much of anything in the way of makeup, this is my go to blush. For this look, I knew that I need to warm up my sallow skin and look like I made an effort, so I actually built the face around the blush. Some people put on blush last… but I tend to do it right after base makeup because it’s a good indicator of where I want to go next.
The eyes are a double blend of Lorac Pro Garnet and Taupe. I didn’t wand the redness of Garnet, but I wanted to warm up Taupe to some semblance of soft smoke. All I did was hit the lid and under the water line and buffed it out. If you guys haven’t figured out by now, I’ve lacked the time and patience for any serious eye art. It needs to look neat and blended, and that’s about the sum of my requirements. I popped Chanel Rose Or liner in my lashline to add a little light and open up my eyes. The the rest is just mascara (Armani… duh), and Tilbury’s Legendary Brows which remains epic in application and performance. If only all her new launches were this good…
Did I skip over the base? I did. That’s YSL Fusion Ink (I know some of y’all hate it for all that damn alcohol but my skin just loves it) in B60 with 3 drops of Cover FX Calming Oil and one Drop of Enhancing Drops in Sunlight. I told you guys I was serious about using that stuff all the time. Now it’s like my cell phone; I have no idea how I lived life before it. 🙂 Tilbury Pressed Powder in Medium is dusted through the center (which is the new norm. I only put it through the t-zone now because my skin has balanced out enough to control oil on its own).
The lips are Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani liner in Ex-Girlfriend… filled all the way in. I topped it with Lipstick Queen Seven Deadly Sins Gloss in Avarice. I might need a backup of that gloss because I’m going through it like water. Poppy King certainly earned her title of Lipstick Queen. That gloss is everything.
If you haven’t gotten your hands on MAC Peaches, don’t cheat yourself. It’s really proof that in the midst of a thousand collection launches every other day of predictably sub-standard quality, once upon a time MAC used to actually be about something. I love this blush with everything. I need to get to purchasing another pot because I simply refuse to be without it.
