As a oil-producing gal, I’m always wary of the ‘dewy effect’ in makeup. For me, dewy skin dewalways means GREASY. A high sheen on me is never cute, so I’m always looking to mattify my face to keep me from looking like a walking oil slick.

I’ll just go ahead and blame the ingredients in the new Farmacy Skin Dew for piquing my interest. They are literally to die for. Check it out:
Water, Glycerin, Propanediol, Methoxycinnamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Patented Echinacea Purpurea ‘Greenenvytm’ Root Extract, Equisetum Arvense Juice, Phenoxyethanol, Oleth-20, Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Fruit Extract, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract, Coccinia Indica Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Ocimum Basilicum (Basil) Flower/Leaf Extract, Cananga Odorata Flower Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Solanum Melongena (Eggplant) Fruit Extract, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Corallina Officinalis Extract, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Flower Extract, Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Dehydroxanthan Gum, Sodium Phytate, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Amino Esters-1, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caramel.

The bold ingredients REALLY agree with my skin, and even with Glycerin (read: grease on my skin) so higfotd skin dewh up, I thought that maybe the mint and tumeric would help to balance it. I was half right. Depending on the foundation I use, this really works. When I put it over the Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow (shown), I literally RADIATE. And because the foundation is so sheer, the mist adds an extra layer of light reflection (read: distraction), to pull the eye away from any blemishes (which are almost gone. YAYY!).

But it doesn’t work for every foundation. I tried it with the Burberry Cashmere and it curdled within minutes. Same for the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation. It does work with a thin formula like YSL Fusion Ink or Armani Maestro Makeup, but keep blotting tissues because after about 2 hours I got a nasty slick across my nose and cheekbones and had to blot.

For my  oily skin, this is great short term. But I would not spray and go for an 8-hour day. It feels amazing (mint and rosemary) and will work for me as long as I keep the makeup light and low maintenance.
