Product Review: Bobbi Brown Long Wear Compact Foundation

When Bobbi Brown first came out with their Oil Free Compact many moons ago, I was all over it. I wore it for years before I finally chucked it for something with a little more coverage. The Oil Free Compact was notoriously sheer, and was nearly impossible to build.

Now, Bobbi Brown has released a new compact with better coverage (and in even more colors).

We’re headed into the warmer months, and I always tan. So my color for the Spring/Summer is going to be ‘Golden.’

The compact comes with a sponge, that I do NOT recommend you use. It eats up a lot of product, and I find that the coverage isn’t that great. Instead, use a brush. I was able to use less product to get more coverage, and I was able to layer it to a solid medium coverage with a brush.

Now, my arm is stained from the YSL Glossy Stain Swatch… so I thought it would be a good time to see just how well this foundation would cover…

It’s excellent. I painted this swatch on using a small foundation brush (the flat head kind), and it worked beautifully. There are a ton of colors in this foundation… to suit just about every skin tone. There are even ‘in between colors’ (the color between Honey #5 and Golden #6 is Warm Honey #5.5) just in case you can’t find your perfect match.

Bobbi Brown has always excelled at perfecting the skin with excellent bases, and this compact is no exception. You can find out more about Bobbi Brown Long Wear Compact Even Finish Foundation HERE.

  1. I wonder if her cream foundations colors are a little lighter than the stick foundations, I have 6.5 Warm Almond which I like and 7.0 Almond which is a little too dark for me, but i'm loving the Golden.

  2. I'm not sure Lily. It's possible that they might be darker. Golden is definitely my summer color. I wear Honey in the winter, which is a lot more yellow. Golden has just a teeny bit of red in the undertone, but it's not enough to drastically alter the finish on my skin.

  3. Bobbi Brown definitely does foundations well. Don't you just love the 'in between' colors? I thought that was genius on their part because so many beauties struggle to find the perfect shade, only to find that they're 'in between' shades… and buying 2 foundations to make one match is completely frustrating. I always toss the sponges too. I definitely prefer to use a brush.
