Lip Service: Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet (La Distinguee)

I was pretty skeptical about this color out the gate. La Distinguee is the latest Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick to become available in the United States (it was previously released in Asia, I believe). It’s hailed as a nude-peach (which can translate in to ashy pink) color. But I ordered it from Chanel anyway… and hoped for the best. I was happy to find out that it was a little darker in person, actually complimented my warm skin tone.

Like the other Rouge Allure Velvet lipsicks, this one goes on silky and sets to a beautiful semi-matte finish.

Now, it does pull pink on me (it’s not nude or peach on me by any stretch of the imagination), but it still wears soft and flattering. I like it. You can find out more about Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in La Distinguee HERE.

  1. I just came across your blog because of your Chanel lipstick swatches and I have to say, thank goodness!!! I feel soooo helpless sometimes trying to find swatches on darker complexions because, lets face it… most colors I like end up totally not working on my skin tone 😦 thank you thank you, can't wait to see more!!!

  2. You're so welcome Roxanna! Welcome to the blog! 🙂 Warmer skin tones do get a different result with colors. It's important that we be aware of how things will look on our individual skin tone. I can't wear a traditional 'nude' color, because it basically goes ashy on me. But a medium rosy brown, or peachy bronze will work as my perfect nude. Glad I could help!
