Product Review: Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid Makeup (4CN1)

Okay, now they are just showing off.

You guys remember when I went NUTS over Estee Lauder Double Wear Light? Well, this company has DONE IT AGAIN. They have just flipped off Chanel’s Vitalumiere Aqua all kinds of ways… OMG.

Call this the Brown Beauty’s answer to the limited selection of colors with Chanel’s Vitalumiere Aqua. Estee Lauder essentially took the same formula (water based & weightless) and just expanded the color range. I want to say they put it in a  bigger bottle too. This one looks bigger than Vitalumiere Aqua to me (although it’s still listed as 1.0 oz).

Just like its Chanel counterpart, you have to shake it first before you use it. A very little of this foundation goes a LONG way. It’s thin, but spreads out smooth and evenly and offers a medium to full coverage (it can be layered).

My color is 4CN1. I imagine that the C and the N stand for ‘Cool Neutral.’ The color range is not only extensive, it’s separated by undertones. You HAVE to try this foundation in person before committing, because I thought I was 5CN1, and that turned out to be much too red for me. This one has more of a yellow undertone. This foundation also oxidizes as it warms to the skin, so be aware of that when you make your choice.

Despite its fantastic coverage, this foundation wears completely weightless. I am so impressed.

The price point is attractive too. $35 (compared to Chanel’s $45 price tag). Pay attention to this one. It’s good.

  1. I must have this for the summer, so glad they have a nice range of darker shades. I love the despenser/packaging on this, no more tipping over the whole bottle and inevitably pouring out waaay to much. Good job Estee Lauder!

  2. I think you will really like it Shontay. I am so happy about it because I REALLY LIKED Vitalumiere Aqua, but I can't wear it because the shade range is so limited. This is the perfect answer to that problem.

  3. Hi there! I was wondering if you tried the colour 4wn1 as well? I got the sample for 4wn1 AND 4cn1 and I seriously do not notice a difference at all (I have one colour on one side of my face and the other colour on the other side of my face…Yes I am a nerd!)…. How did you end up picking up 4cn1? Did you try 4wn1 as well? Help!!!!!!!

  4. I just got a sample of this foundation in 5WN1. The 5CN1 was too red in undertone. I still need to try the 5WN1 all over my face…I hope it will not oxidize too much on me.
